Cheryl Mun

Financial Services Consultant

Hi, I’m Cheryl!

Before transitioning into financial planning, I spent several years building a freelance career across various areas of the media industry. I’ve done video editing and promotions for television, taken on roles from Production Assistant to Associate Producer in filmmaking, contributed to global journalistic initiatives that championed quality journalism and press freedom, and also provided translation services for businesses. These diverse experiences allowed me to develop a multifaceted skill set, with strong linguistic and communication abilities that enable me to connect effectively with people from all walks of life.

While the media industry offered excitement and a certain glamour, I felt a growing need to pursue work with deeper meaning and emotional fulfilment—something that would allow me to directly serve others and make a lasting, positive impact on their lives.

It was during this period of reflection that my husband, who had recently entered the financial planning profession, began sharing his experiences with me. His stories resonated with me, particularly when I recalled a personal experience where my mother, lacking sufficient insurance coverage, fell seriously ill, and funds initially saved for my overseas medical studies had to be used to cover my mother’s treatment costs. This pivotal moment reinforced the critical importance of financial planning, and as I watched my husband’s professional growth, I began to wonder if this field could offer the fulfilment I was seeking. After careful reflection and alignment of my personal values with the role, I decided to take the leap of faith into financial planning.

Today, my mission is to help individuals and families not only build financial security, but also gain confidence in their life decisions and future. I strive to take on a thoughtful and long-term approach with my clients, to ensure that plans for my clients continue to remain relevant, resilient, and align with their evolving priorities based on their changing needs. I also believe that good financial planning begins with understanding people—listening to their stories, values, and aspirations—so that I can create an experience with my clients where they feel heard and supported, thus allowing me to serve as a trusted partner in helping them navigate both the calm and the uncertain seasons of life.
